Eve Teasing at Qurum Beach Road??

My friend and I decided to go for a walk on the Qurum Beach Road (the one where Japengo and Tche Tche are located). It was around 8.30pm. There were a few women and men walking too. I was really upset that we got a lot of unecessary comments from men and one of them even walked right into my friend on purpose. On the other hand I noticed a woman walking alone by herself. Wasn't she getting any of these annoying comments? Was it only us? We were decently dressed in track pants and tee shirts. If this is the case we are really  re-considering going there for a walk again. Why can't men mind their own business and not remark at women who just want to enjoy a walk on their own?

  1. Oman has become a very dangerous place for women. eve teasing , name calling and indecent gestures are very common. and please dont be under the impression that only the un abaya clad women get it couse omani women and other nationals, head to toe covered in abaya get this too. police has nothing to do with it....y?? cose the people ..the youth who are doing this sit and play cards with them in the evenings or hang around or are maybe from the same tribe... the Omani women dont raise their voice because they dont wana be a subject of gossip in the clan....and moreover the police will never take it seriously either.....they are "shabab Omani" (Omani Youth) after all.

    1. It is really sad that women can't even walk freely at the beach without being teased. It is not possible for us to have a man with us all the time. There are times when we just want to hang out with our girlfriends.
